Rachel + Alvin
If you have not yet made it out to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens, I highly recommend it. I was lucky enough to enjoy a laid back Sunday afternoon with these love birds for their two year wedding anniversary session.
The gardens are meticulously kept and overflowing with fragrant exotic flowers, green shrubs, and towering trees. It makes for a great escape within the city where you can grab a cup of coffee and go slow your day down a bit.
After our session we got a quick bite at Araya's, a vegan Thai restaurant that has local charm and a delicious spicy tofu noodle dish. Rachel and Alvin have been vegan for two years now and have said it was one of the best decisions they have made. After devouring the spicy tofu noodle dish, I can't argue with that one :)
Happy two year anniversary, you two.
I was a working mom, that is up until about a week ago when I quit my job as a legal assistant. I now spend my days being a stay at home mom and photographer. When I was working I frequently sat in the gridlock of I-5 traffic commuting from my suburban home in Puyallup down south to the bustle of Olympia. On Friday's my aunt would take care of my son Ryan for me. On my commute to go get him, I was able to escape the honking cars and break lights for the cool and shaded back country roads through Rainier. Along the way up to Eatonville I would whizz by a gravel service road that led into a trail of gorgeous trees and yellow fields. I would tell myself every week I would stop and check it out but I was always rushing back to get Ryan. I never took the time to stop.
On my way to get Ryan on my last day at work, I decided to venture down that gravel road. With my Subaru Outback slightly bottoming out in a few ruts and weaving in between boulders, the cloud of dust I had kicked up finally settled and I had the most awe inspiring view. The fields were lush with brittle yellow brush and rolling hills swept the background. I started sending images over to Paul at TGTB Collective as a possible new session location.
In the middle of nowhere, is where I found myself. Inspired. In the middle of nowhere, is often where you will find yourself with me and the TGTB team. In the rainforests of the PNW, on a high rock above valleys, and possibly down a dusty gravel road leading to serene fields where your heart can run wild. Scouting out locations is something I really enjoy doing and I can't wait to share these inspiring places we have discovered with you! I am thankful to be spending more time with my son and pursuing my passion of photography. Stay tuned as there are many more locations to come.
